I used the forces but i would like something else for PYP 2.

Heart rate impact different sports or activites- I do a lab on how something affects HR or blood pressure and the students love it, some times they pick different sports or they look at meditation or music! Lots of great lab ideas are generated by them.

A fully complete lab report, all of the variables, safety predictions data collection and analysis.

Sounds like there would be so much learning going on. Something I’ve been thinking a lot about is helping them see the purpose of the product. So, with the fully complete lab report, could they then use this to present their findings to an audience with the intention to be to influence the thinking (audience leaves with some ideas about how to live a healthier lifestyle) and behaviour (some audience members actually put some ideas into action. This means they aren’t doing the research to produce a lab report, they’re doing it to positively influence their own lives (hopefully they learn something useful for them!) and the lives of other people, and the lab report becomes a useful tool for doing that.
