Relevance to our community – Significant; attachment is the biggest factor as a result of high divorce rate; high levels of family separation and helper culture
Challenges we face – educating/reaching the community; continuing to prepare for transitions PK – Grade 12. Affluent neglect.
Successes – Safe, predictable and empathetic environment. Teaching students to share how they are feeling (Tiger Traits/ATLs). Establishing key person for students. Staff training and vigilance. Safeguarding pillars.
Explore – Methods of engaging various groups to support trauma informed practice – parent/grandparent seminars, helper seminars.
